Where You'll Work & The Scope:
Vishay Electro-Films in Warwick, RI is currently seeking a full-time Equipment Engineer responsible for monitoring and evaluating repeat and system problems at the metals equipment, provide continuous improvement suggestions and proposals to improve tool performance, and subsequently make and implement changes to ensure improved performance. The engineer shall be capable of supporting manufacturing with equipment issues, troubleshoot and/or replace equipment and components as necessary, and complete all tasks and projects in a safe manner that ensures a safe, functional work environment for all personnel.
How You’ll Help Us Build the DNA of Tech:
- Correct production equipment problems by determining root cause and providing short and long term solutions as needed
- Plan and complete equipment continuous improvement tasks and projects independently and as a leader of a continuous improvement team (CIT)
- Work closely with process engineering to manage changes and qualificatons effectively
- Work with outside vendors and engineering on equipment upgrades and modifications as needed
- Maintain equipment downtime database and provides reports to manager
- Order and/or stock additional repair parts and supplies as needed for the established spare parts inventory system
- Create and manage database for sputter engineering on equipment updates and modifications as needed
Experience You’ll Need:
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant industry
- Experience with high vacuum systems equipment
- Sputtering or PVD experience is preferred
- Solid knowledge of vacuum, gauges, pumps, controls, and sputtering theory
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude for problem solving
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
