Position Title : Sr. Executive , Industrial Relation

Job Purpose / Key Role : 

  • Ensuring employee compliance with plant operations, business requirements and indiscipline thereof.
  • Ease conflicts and maintain industrial peace and harmony consistent with legal and business principles.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and other requirements
  • Direct and oversee administration support services at all VCIPL location

Position Requirements :

Academic / Professional Education : 

  • A Post Graduate Degree in Human Resource : Management or related fields.
  • PGDM
  • PSM

Experience : >10 – 15 Years

Technical Skills / Knowledge :

  • Ability to assess organizational needs and provide relevant IR / Admin solutions.
  • Skilled in guiding leaders / managers on matters related to industrial relations.
  • Knowledge of industrial relations concepts and related regulatory requirements.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Effective verbal, written communication skills, including good command of English.
  • Ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient computer skills using MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to drive an automobile to manage contingencies

Major Job Responsibilities :

  • Assist the Director Human Resources in the development of policies and procedures applicable to Industrial Relations.
  • Advise and assist in developing, planning and implementing procedures towards effective management of the industrial relations function.
  • In collaboration with Legal Counsel, interpret Union and State regulations, policies and procedures, in the area of industrial relations
  • Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
  • Propose and work with the HR team, on the development and initiation of training programs on industrial relations and other related initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding laws, regulations, policies, procedures and practices related to industrial relations.
  • Facilitate communication among employees and management by providing guidance and consultation regarding problem solving, conflict resolution, regulatory compliance, litigation avoidance and strives to resolve internal conflict informally through appropriate conflict management and mediation techniques.
  • Manages and oversee performance of IR and Admin team, including recommendations for employee improvement as well as implementation.
  • Develops budget recommendations and prepares budget requests with written narrative documenting budgetary needs for the industrial relations domain.
  • Liaise with the vendors to implement Employee Relations programs.
  • Experience of negotiation with Union.
  • Liaise with the statutory authorities and to administer IR / Compliance programs.
  • Manages the employee long service and retirement recognition programs.
  • Serves on various internal committees as necessary.
  • Manage statutory welfare such as Canteen, Crèche, Dispensary and ensure compliance to statutes.
  • Manage activities such as arranging employee uniform, safety shoes, laundry services through vendors as per policy.
  • Coordinate employee transport and monitor its effectiveness including budget and cost compliance.
  • Oversee Plant Security function and sustain its effectiveness.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned from time to time.
