Where You’ll Work & The Scope:

Vishay Siliconix, a leader in the development of power semiconductor products which improves efficiency in electronic systems for consumer, industrial, automotive, medical, and military applications, is currently seeking a Senior R&D Device Integration Engineer HVM.  This position will be located in San Jose, California.

 

How You’ll Help Us Build the DNA of Tech

 

As Senior R&D Device Integration Engineer you will contribute to the development of MOSFET designs and processes needed to manufacture our advanced high voltage technologies. Participate in R&D new device and technology developments through device design and integration activities. Working with our foundry partners, you will develop new high voltage superjunction MOSFET platforms and products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop new high voltage superjunction MOSFET technology platforms for commercial and automotive applications that have best in class performance based on advanced power device concepts for Silicon.
  • Develop and assess new device structures for high voltage superjunction MOSFETs. Research and evaluate advanced superjunction technology options.
  • Use power device physics principles to understand and resolve device performance limitations, yield, and reliability issues
  • Analyze electrical test data, prepare technical reports and summaries
  • Work with cross functional teams to implement device and technology development at different foundries.
  • The planning, implementation, and analysis of experiments during process development.
  • Qualification of new technologies and products following automotive AEC-Q101.

 

Experience You’ll Need:

  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a similar discipline with an emphasis on semiconductor device physics.
  • The candidate should have strong understanding of state-of-the-art super-junction device architectures. Knowledge and understanding of charge balance concepts.
  • Fundamental knowledge of semiconductor wafer processing.
  • Experience in device integration for manufacturing of power semiconductor devices.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Excellent problem-solving skills – able to identify problems and/or opportunities for improvement and assesses viable solutions. Develop and execute comprehensive action plans.
  • Excellent ability to speak and write and communicate in the English language.
  • Skilled knowledge in design of experiments and data analysis using software like JMP.
  • Effective collaboration with international teams, strong communication skills and social awareness.
  • Autonomy and responsibility, analytical thinking, quality awareness and team dedication.
