Where You'll Work & The Scope:

Vishay Siliconix, a leader in the development of power semiconductor products which improves efficiency in electronic systems for consumer, industrial, automotive, medical, and military applications, is currently seeking a Semiconductor Device Engineer.  This position will be located in San Jose, California.

How You'll Help Us Build the DNA of Tech:

 

As Semiconductor Device Engineer you will work with a talented staff of professional team members to ensure successful integration and development of power management and BCD processes on our roadmap.  You will work closely with our design and product engineering teams to ensure successful product development to deliver cutting edge solutions to the market.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design test chips, characterize devices, establish device layout methdology for analog designs, and establish device selection and usage guidelines for IC applications.
  • Collaborate with Design, Product, and Reliability engineering teams to resolve device related problems and work with the teams to establish preventive measures.
  • Help drive product tapeouts through device library generation, design and layout review, mask data review, design rule check review, and coordinating with foundries.
  • Establish and maintain ESD, Latch-up, and IO layout design best practices for IC technology platforms and applications. Investigate ESD/Latch-up failures and implement fixes on products.

 

Knowledge and Experience You'll Need:

  • Strong analytical skills and electrical test laboratory experience are required.
  • Ability to work independently, manage timelines, drive and monitor projects, and work with others in a team.
  • Good communication (verbal and written) skills are highly desired.
  • Knowledge of TCAD and parasitic extraction simulation tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ESD, Latch-up, and large array device design is a plus.

Education:

  • MS or Ph.D in Electrical Engineering or Physics.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in MOSFET semiconductor device and BCD technology development.
