1. SUMMARY OF POSITION :

  • Responsible to create, maintain and update New Products Introduction (NPI) procedures
  • Responsible for the flawless launching of projects thru PPAP, APQP or other project management tools, such   

    as MS Project to meet project committed dates.

  • Plan, monitor and manages internal and external projects from initiation to completion.
  • Ensures project results meet requirements regarding quality, volume and cost.
  • Secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risk  

    assessments and changes.

  • Leads and coordinate project planning, resources, timing, risk management of the projects and keep the

    organization informed of the project status and escalating to upper management the potential roadblocks.

  • Coordinate products/processes transfers/launches up to the release to production following the Vishay related

           Procedures.

  • Specialized professional recognized as an expert in its discipline or coordinator of a team of professionals with   

    full management authority which will guide others in resolving complex issues.

  • Has awareness of latest commercial and/or technical developments in own area and communication skills to

    influence others. May set policies and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

  • The assignment might include individual or multiple projects based in the scope, dates, complexity and

    capabilities expected for the projects.

 

2.  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION(S):

  1. Planning and execution of project revisions to present to top management
  2. Keeps records for the project that support the activities of the process including the determination and planning of the different project stages as well as the coordination of the human resources involved to ensure the accomplishment of the project objectives. Ensure records and information accessible to the top management.
  3. Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or resources additions.
  4. Prepares and conducts project reviews (gate reviews) with top management throughout the life of the project up to release to production using Key Process Indicators (KPI) including financial, planning, and risk areas.
  5. Serves as an expert within own discipline and as a resource for best practices/quality on functional teams or projects. Coordinates and provides guidelines to the Multidisciplinary Project team members.
  6. Develop, maintain, deploys, and communicates the complete project planning including risk assessments and mitigation options to the multidisciplinary team and coordinates regular revisions up to the Production release.
  7. Keeps effective communications with all the functions involved on the project execution.
  8. Supports activities to quote new products as a result of the project for new business/processes.
  9. Escalate major issues to top management when jeopardizing a project realization thru the use of tangible and intangible risk analysis.
  10. Supports the Quality system following ISO-9001, IATF 16949 and Environmental Systems ISO-14001.

3. OTHER SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Attend meetings and work effectively with other employees to coordinate the progress  

    projects.

  1. Track the progress of the project utilizing project management tools (Ms Project).
  2. It is the communication link between operations and Columbus’s engineering. Keep the

    records of project tracking thru a documented process.

  1. Seeks constantly for cost reduction of all assigned projects.
  2. Establishes and maintains strong working relationships among all company functions.

4. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Number of years of study and specifically the type of training and experience.

 Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Mechanical, Electromechanical, or similar discipline, MBA degree is   

 desired.

 Experience: Minimum 7 years in a Senior position launching new products in the Automotive Industry..

 Basic Training: Project Management, APQP, PPAP's, FMEA's, Control Plan, MSA, ISO-9001, ISO/TS 16949,  

 AutoCAD, Read equipment and Materials data sheets.

5.  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  1. English proficient +90% is a must.
  2. Electro mechanic equipment operation.
  3. Data analysis, Data base knowledge MS Office or similar.

  8. Ability to communicate directly with outside and inside Customers.
6. LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY AND DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY: specify the number of employees under your charge, budget and supervision responsibilities, sales volume, etc.

Full authority to coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure product and process launching is on time and according to the Vishay procedures.

7. PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Be specific

Good working conditions.  Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, cold or heat. Some elements are occasionally present which makes conditions less desirable than usually found in an office environment. Works with hazardous materials: lead, mercury, cadmium, radiation.
