Quality Inspector 4

Vishay Columbus, is currently seeking a full time Quality Inspector 4 responsible for proficieny in all inspection requirements, procedures and systems for all production within the Division.  Assists the Quality Supervisor with training inspectors and making basic decisions necessary to maintain acceptable quality levels.  Adjusts inspector work assignments as required to ensure continued line flow.  Produces numerous quality reports.  Assumes responsibility for the assigned area during the Supervisors absence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all military testing and maintains associated records.
  • Prepares and submits required periodic quality control inspection results report to customers.
  • Compiles weekly, monthly and quarterly Process Average reports for Division Products at all locations.
  • Coordinates all Quality, Customer and Engineering request for testing with the Reliability Test Lab.
  • Ensures all QPL Maintenance Orders are completed, accepted and ready for submission to the Reliability Test Lab to maintain product qualification.
  • Conducts inspector training, maintains and updates training records.
  • Coordinates customer returns with inspector to confirm customer findings.  Assists Quality Supervisor in determining disposition of returned product
  • Understand and is knowledgeable of all inspection requirements for Division Patrol Inspection as outlined in applicable documentation.  Is familiar with all products produced by division.
  • Performs temperature checks on designated ovens and coaters as required by applicable documentation. 
  • Performs ESD checks are required by applicable documentation.
  • Assists Quality Supervisor with customer and government source inspections.
  • Recommends and submits changes to processing and inspection documentation.
  • Generally assists the Quality Control Supervisor in maintaining a high level of in-process and final product quality. 
  • Equipment Utilization: Utilizes spreadsheets, databases and work processing software.  Operates various test and measurement equipment and hand tools. 


Good verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate quality requirements and problems to individuals at different levels in the organization and at other manufacturing locations.  Organizational skills in order to prioritize multiple responsibilities and accurately complete work duties.  Ability to understand verbal and written instruction in order to take work direction and accurately complete assigned tasks.  Data processing skills to include knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and word processing software. 


High school diploma or equivalent.

Two years to three years experience. 

Ability to do light lifting in order to lift the products and materials being inspected.   Good working conditions.  Occasional exposure to one or more disagreeable elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, heat, cold, noise, vibration, moisture or oil.  May view small close tolerance parts for extended periods of time.  Generally sedentary type work but position requires mobility to move about the plant as job duties dictate.
