Production Technician 4

Vishay Dale Electronics in Columbus, NE is currently seeking a Production Technician responsible for assisting the supervior to increase line efficiency, assisting in the training of new employees, managing orders through the line in proper sequence and working on the production line to assist in breaking material banks.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understands all processes and specifications within the department and reports to Supervisor any discrepancies in line specifications.
  • Assists Supervisor in managing the line flow of orders.  Reports any excessive work banks at line positions to Supervisor.
  • Assists Supervisor in the instruction and training of line workers, monitors worker's technique and makes recommendations for improvement.  Reports to Supervisor any problems or difficulties encountered by the production workers in their operation, materials or equipment.
  • Moves in-process products from one workstation to another and finished product to shipping. Adhesion, punch tests and completing of plated orders in required.
  • Plates and cleans product as necessary for continuation of line flow.
  • Reports any machine breakdowns to the Supervisor and/or maintenance, and reports any tool shortages or tools in need of repair.
  • Brings to the Supervisor's attention any questions, misunderstandings or issues with line personnel.
  • Answers routine questions of line workers regarding company policies, procedures, benefits or programs and refers other than routine questions to the Supervisor or to Personnel.
  • Performs tasks assigned by the Supervisor that are unique to a specific line or are required due to a special situation. (Examples may be setting up machines, checking subassemblies, taking inventory, updating documentation.)
  • Assists the Supervisor in monitoring and controlling line safety, insuring that machine guarding is in place, required safety equipment is in use and safety procedures are followed.
  • Various hand tools, computers and manufacturing equipment, such as screen printers and  test equipment, etc.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.



High School Diploma or Equivalent. Three months to one year experience required. 

Thorough knowledge of all line equipment, processes and materials.  Mobility to easily move around the production line to service line workers, and the plant to deliver finished product to shipping or to deal with support departments such as Production Control, Accounting or Human Resources.  Good working conditions.  Occasional exposure to one or more disagreeable elements such as dust, dirt, fumes, heat, cold, noise, vibration, moisture or oil. Typical of shop jobs which involve extensive walking or standing.
