Operator 4 - Advanced Manufacturing Operator

Vishay Dale in Columbus, NE is currently seeking a full-time Continuous Line Operator responsible for disposing hazardous waste and metal scrap throughout Plants 2 and 6. Assisting Paint Room Preform operator with the preparation and delivery of paints, inks and varnishes for manufacturing lines.


Primary Responsibilities:

Collect and dispose of hazardous waste and scrap materials, provide production with adequate containers for waste materials.

Identify and replace broken or damaged waste containers and zip ties on scrap containers

Mix raw materials into specific lots of paint and / or epoxy and reduce to appropriate viscosity.

Label all materials with RR, batch, viscosity, and date. Distribute paints and other materials to production lines.

Operate paint mixing machine and associated equipment.

Participates in continuous improvement activities.

Must be versatile in work assignments.  Being able to move from one job assignment to another.

Cleans machines and work area as necessary.

Practices all safety rules.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Attend and complete Job training as required to perform environmental responsibilities.



Ability to interpret production specifications for paint mixing.  Must have good interpersonal and communication skills in order to collaborate with Material Handlers, Stockroom, Supervisors and Engineers.  Ability to understand verbal and/or written instructions. Forklift training may be required.

Initial 24 Hazwopper with annual 8 hour refreshers are required.

Initial hazardous waste management procedures (RCRA) training within six months of the appointment of   position dealing with hazardous waste and subsequent annual refresher thereafter.

Initial emergency contingency plan implementation training within six months of the appointment of position dealing with hazardous waste and subsequent annual refresher thereafter.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Ability to lift moderate to heavy buckets of compound and paint and ability to move 55-gal drums with wheeled cart. Mobility to easily move – bends, stretch, and lift in order to perform physical requirements of position. Dirty work with exposure to elements such as noise, dust, fumes, heat, cold, paint, and inks. Non-sedentary work requiring standing, walking, and lifting. Respirator training required. PPE for eye protection required during paint mix process.
