Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.?  Vishay Newport, UK is currently seeking applicants for a Cost Accountant. 

Responsible for: As a Cost Accountant, you will be supporting the costing process for new technologies and supporting the Treasury functions. You will contribute to the success of Vishay through working together with a talented staff of engineering professionals to develop and enable the next generations of Vishay’s proprietary power device product portfolio.

Job Location:

This position is located in Newport, South Wales.   

What you will be doing:

• Support the ongoing cost modelling process, including developing and controlling.

• Develop close working relationships with all relevant departments for accurate modelling data.

• Maintain the cash forecast, make payments and support the treasury function.

• Ensuring business wide compliance of existing internal controls. Developing new, robust, internal control processes.

• Develop and improve financials systems and processes, seeking efficiency gains.

• Support the Senior Accountant as required on cost modelling and reporting.

• Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.   

• Involvement in internal and external audits.

You will approach tasks in a logic-based way, along with having the ability and motivation to develop novel and creative ideas.  Your communication skills will enable seamless collaboration both with our manufacturing partners and internally, and you will know how to build and maintain lasting relationships in international and cross-functional project teams.

• Strong numeracy and excellent excel skills with ability to analytically problem solve.

• High level attention to detail.

• Good interpersonal skills. Communicates well and builds cross functional relationships.

• Flexible and able to adapt in a team environment.

• Positive, enthusiastic and can-do attitude.

• Receptive to change.

• At least 5 years’ finance experience in a similar role.

• Manufacturing experience desirable.
