Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.?  Vishay Centerline is currently seeking applicants for a Buyer. The Buyer will be responsible for planning production schedules and procuring materials, parts, components, and services to support our customer needs and requirements. 

Vishay Centerline is located in Hudson, Massachusetts. There are around 20 employees in this machine shop operation and it is a first shift operation. This role is an on-site position.

What you will be doing:

  • Acquire and maintain technical understanding of products purchased 
  • Process, approve, and deliver purchase and production orders to support product line needs and meet targeted inventory goals
  • Review bid proposals and negotiate purchase orders
  • Maintain procurement records such as items or services, purchased costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
  • Monitor the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure highest quality at best value
  • Recommend cost saving proposals, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria
  • With guidance, develop new supply sources where existing vendors and suppliers are inadequate

What you will bring along:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, but will consider candidates with 3-5 years of relevant experience and training
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on manufacturing environment
  • MRP and inventory experience is necessary
