Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech?  Vishay, Yankton, SD, is currently seeking a full-time R&D Engineering Technician responsible for working closely with the production and engineering group in mold room, maintaining mold tools, setting up mold tools, troubleshooting robot applications in production and participating in process improvements related to these areas as directed by engineering.  This ranges from, but not limited to, maintaining mold tools, machine set up, training on equipment, creating work instructions, preventative maintenance, ensuring Vishay’s quality standards are followed, and delivery dates are met.

Job Location:

This position is located on-site Yankton, SD.  We are situated in Southeast South Dakota: on the banks of the Missouri River and minutes from Lewis and Clark Lake where you can enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational activities.

What you will be doing:

  • Set up mold presses and assist with mold tooling changeover for production and or engineering orders. Perform troubleshooting
  • Create and maintain training documents for molding and robotic process.  Train production personal on required processes.
  • Document and create work instructions from prototype builds for molding process and robotic processes.  
  • Perform troubleshooting on robot processes in production.
  • Identify preventive maintenance needs for molding equipment and robots in the connectors area.  Follow up on preventive maintenance requirements and assist as needed on preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with first time production runs or production builds
  • Run OGP/CMM or other inspections to ensure mold set up is correct
  • Participate and provide input during engineering RD and process meetings

What you will bring along:

  • Manufacturing experience with production and operation of various equipment. Molding and inspection experience preferred. Ability to read 2-D and 3-D drawings.  Strong computers skills required in the areas of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • 2 year technical degree or applicable experience required.
