Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.?  Vishay Italy is currently seeking applicants for Sr. Manager System Applications Engineering. To join our growing team  to develop integrated circuits at the heart of modern power systems.   We are seeking a self-driven System Applications Engineering leader who enjoys collaborating with marketing and other engineering teams to understand marketing requirements and translate them into product specifications, as well as managing a team of applications engineers to perform validation at both silicon and system level.  A broad range of industry experience is desired , but specific experience in power management products for high-performance computing, automotive, industrial or networking applications is most valuable.

In this position, the successful candidate will work with an experienced team to convert ideas into products and bring them to the market. This is a senior role providing the opportunity to create real impact within the organization and help to define the roadmap for the entire business.

Job Location:

The VISHAY IC Design Team located In Northern Italy will be tasked of defining/designing and bringing to production complex analog & mixed power management ICs that are going to be at the core of – but not limited to - High Peformance Computing systems. What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with marketing and  leading customers to  understand system requirements
  • Translate marketing and system requirements into product specifications and corresponding applications validation plans (draft, review and maintain) for each product.
  • Work closely with design, marketing, product, and test engineering teams to ensure product requirements as well as applications operating conditions are understood by all team members.
  • Perform bench validations on prototypes to ensure that they meet application specifications.  Report all performance results to internal engineering teams and support them to identify vehicles for future improvements.
  • Responsible for design and implementation of applications evaluation boards and system boards(schematic, layout, troubleshooting, etc.).
  • Write and publish application notes and white papers related to our products to assist with their market promotions.
  • Train and lead less-experienced applications engineers.
  • Assist with design-in and system-level validations  on key customer programs.
  • Travel 1 to 2 times per quarter (domestically and/or internationally as needed) to work with other team members or visit key customers.

What you will bring along:

  • PhD, or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or similar.
  • 10 + year experience in applications engineering, product definition, validating or designing power management solutions.
  • Experience in managing or leading applications engineering teams to successfully validate prototypes and bring them to production.
  • Significant experience working directly with customers in high-performance computing, industrial, automotive and infrastructure markets.
  • Experience and knowledge of power conversion products and topologies (buck, buck-boost, boost, PMIC, VR…).
  • Strong command of simulation and modelling tools such as Simplis, Matlab, Cadence, etc.
  • The ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to support and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Travel Required: Yes, 10-15% of the Time
