Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech?  Vishay Dale Electronics – Columbus, NE is currently seeking applicants for an Operator 3 – Laser Spiral Weekend Shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday 3:30am-4:00pm). Overtime is available as needed.

Job Location: Vishay Dale Electronics, Columbus, NE is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of resistors and e-beam technology. There are around 600 employees currently working in Columbus, NE. We are one of the largest employers in the Columbus Area.

Job Summary: Performs set-up and laser spiral Film resistors to the final value using Dual Head or Tray Fed laser equipment. Maintains a working knowledge of all common set-up procedures and quality requirements within the Film laser area. Assist in training of new Laser Spiral 1 operators and works with Engineering Department in special laser experiments.

What you will be doing:

• Powers up laser and control console and makes sure vacuum pump is operating.

• Set-up procedures.

• Scans production card into SPC program to receive spiral point.

• Enters proper resistance value on decade controls and adds single layer of parts to bowl.

• Set machine speed (not to exceed maximum machine speed as called out in spec), sets scan and spindle speeds from amp factor on production card or figure amp factor.

• Pulls SPC sample and performs measurements, entering data in SPC program.

• Visually inspects laser cut for all quality requirements.

• Makes necessary adjustments in scan speed, spindle speed and power (Variac controls) to meet quality requirements as called out in specifications.

• Once satisfied with setup - processes the order.

• Continually monitoring the order while processing.

• Makes any necessary adjustments to ensure quality conforms to the specifications.

• Continues loading and unloading parts until order is complete.

• Removes finished parts from either rear of machine (tray fed) or catch totes or tubes (dual heads).

• Empties scrap totes.

What you will bring along:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Ability to interpret production specifications and relate to inspecting product to ensure product is meeting the quality requirements of the specifications.

• Organizational skills to organize work area and workflow throughout the day.

• Ability to understand verbal and/or written instructions.

Physical Demands, Work Environment and Required Safety Equipment:

• Must be on feet entire shift.

• Works in busy production environment, operating up to 5 laser machines at the same time.

• May be subject at times to noise and varying lighting levels.

• Laser eye exam is required.
