Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech?  Vishay Thin Film – Niagara Falls, NY is currently seeking applicants for a Plant Manager.  Responsible for the overall leadership of site operations.

What you will be doing:

As set by upper management in a manufacturing environment, enforces the short and long-range strategic planning processes for the overall operation. Also gives input and direction to one or all of the following: production control, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, inventory control, potential materials functions, such as purchasing, and shipping/receiving activities. Creates operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Maintains safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility.  Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with managers of manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering, and marketing. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Translates customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products. 

  • Following division goals, creates and implements activities in operations/manufacturing to meet company goals related to production outputs and efficiencies, service levels and forecasts.
  • Attends senior management meetings and sets forth plans to achieve cost savings objectives, headcount planning, etc.
  • Negotiates contracts as necessary with outside vendors.
  • Meets regularly with staff for updates.
  • Approves budgets and capital expenditures as set by top organizational level.
  • Selects appropriate subordinate management group to ensure smooth company operations and works to optimize company profitability and provides training as appropriate.

What you will bring along:

  • 10 years experience in operations environment with significant manufacturing experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.  MBA a plus.
