Where You'll Work & The Scope:

Vishay, Yankton, SD, is currently seeking a full-time Quality Engineer responsible for under supervision, develops, evaluates, revises, and applies technical quality assurance protocols/methods to inspect and test in-process raw materials, production equipment, and finished products.  Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both company quality assurance standards and applicable government regulations.  Performs analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of finished products, in-process materials and bulk raw materials, and recommends corrective actions when necessary. 

 

How You'll Help Us Build The DNA of Tech:

  • Under supervision, responsible for definition and specification of quality criteria, test equipment and methods, and inspection requirements.
  • Maintains liaison between departments typically--Engineering, Inspection and Production to coordinate product quality and process efficiency.
  • Develops product and process performance measurements including generating monthly quality reports for management review, performing trend analysis of quality data, generating special quality reports for customers.
  • Handles/reviews corrective actions, determines responsibility and assigns for completion.
  • Assists in ISO-9001 and IAFT16949 audits.
  • Reviews procurement documents for adequate delineation of quality requirements to vendors through Purchasing and for adequate Receiving Inspection instructions.
  • Seeks out areas of refinement of materials and methods for cost reduction and quality improvement.
  • Assists with quality surveys by customer or government teams requiring an intimate knowledge of existing quality systems, and the ability to describe applications in terms of various customer specifications.

 

Requirements:

  • 1 - 3 years experience with knowledge of quality specifications such as ISO-9001, IAFT16949, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.

  • Excellent communication skills necessary (verbal, written)
  • May occasionally travel to customers to resolve quality issues and to other Vishay facilities to assist in internal audits and to develop standardized procedures.
