Where You’ll Work & The Scope:

Vishay Electro-Films is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Quality Manager responsible for assuring the quality of products and services delivered to customers is achieved by directing, creating and controlling the organization's policies, procedures, systems and inspection criteria/methods to ensure that the daily manufacturing operations produce high quality products that conform to our customer’s quality standards.


How You’ll Help Us Build the DNA of Tech:

  1. Ensures Quality Systems support the production of high reliability products that meet our customers standards by achieving customer returns equal to or less than established metric.
    • Developing and implementing quality management procedures and systems, including quality monitoring and assurance programs that ensure products are defect free.
    • Ensures problems are worked through to resolution through formal and informal corrective actions.
    • Defining quality polices and interacts regularly with manufacturing and by working with FQA to determine opportunities and issues that need resolution. 
    • Ensures that the existing standards of production are satisfactory and follow safety, customer and regulatory requirements.
    • Establishes, publishes and maintains quality systems and policies relative to the quality assurance activity.
  2. Drives and develops all quality management systems including configuration and documentation.
    • Determines and documents areas in need of improvement.
    • Reviews current policies and drives initiatives and plans to improve upon existing quality standards.
    • Manages and maintains the QMS system and manual and revises as needed to satisfy company and customer needs. 
    • Regularly promotes keeping departmental standards, processes, procedures and workmanship standards current, relevant and properly followed. 
    • Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes, measuring production and documenting evidence and ensures all quality assurance procedures are updated.
  3. Influences the organization to correct quality issues by regularly reporting on all key quality metrics and outcomes 
    • Contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change. 
    • Regularly reports on yield and other quality performance data on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis by reviewing quality performance results, gathering data including Cpk studies, control charts, pareto charts and corrective actions and then summarizes and communicates quality results. 
    • May act as a mediator with external customers or between employees and executive management for the expression of quality problems and solutions.
  4. Manages and develops the quality department and staff
    • Accomplishes quality assurance objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
    • Continuously works to track employee performance results and grow and develop staff to achieve higher levels of quality, productivity and knowledge.
  5. Drives continuous improvement and communication to achieve established final yields.
    • Analyzing trends, key metrics and other quality and statistical data to determine opportunities and areas of improvement needed. 
    • Uses this analysis to develop new systems, processes and procedures for quality and reliability expectancies of goods.
    • Ensures quality control procedures are executed throughout the manufacturing line and continuously improves these processes. 
    • Encourages and trains the workforce to use data to solve problems and develops the quality, environmental, functional and reliability test programs to continuously monitor and improve products.
  6. Resolve all external customer CARs within customer specified time frame
    • Developing and monitoring the quality system, reviewing all incoming CARs, identifying probable cause and assigning the issue to the most qualified individual in the company.
    • Tracks and measures results and ensures that CARs have a completed 8-D back to the customer within customer timelines.
    • Tracks and measures performance and uses CARs information in monthly reporting and analysis to increase quality and to meet the expectations of our customers.
  7. All incoming materials meet EFI specifications for quality
    • Developing incoming inspection procedures, managing, coaching and training all inspection staff for receiving, in-process and final inspection. 
    • Regularly analyzes specifications and statistical data results for quality and reliability of incoming materials.           
  8. Achieves compliance to ISO9001, ISO/TS16949/IATF and ITAR standards
    • Developing the appropriate amount of documentation needed in order to demonstrate the effective planning, operation and control of EFI’s processes and the implementation and continual improvement of the effectiveness of our QMS. 
    • Responsible for ensuring quality audits of all types including systems, processes, and product audits are conducted.  
    • Assures the implementation and reporting of all audit actions.
    • Leads and coordinates 3rd party audits with certifying bodies.
  9. Trains and develops all staff including direct reports to identify quality and defective products and trains all employees on EFI quality systems and expectations
    • Regularly conducting training for new and existing staff on quality systems, inspection methods, problem solving, statistical analysis, quality awareness, workmanship standards, defect criteria and proper handling.


Experience You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering or related field required.
  • Master Black Belt Preferred, Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
  • Minimum of  2-5 years as Quality Manager with 5+ years of hands on experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Management and/or Quality Systems.
  • Must display expertise in understanding and developing quality systems including knowledge with  AS9100/ISO 9001 and IATF16949 quality management standards.
    • Tier 1 Automotive supplier experience is highly desirable
  • Prefer individuals whose experience has predominantly been in manufacturing and who are familiar with ITAR standards.
  • Good negotiation skills with customer-oriented attitude.
  • Demonstrated planning, statistical, analytical, and problem solving skills, and the ability to identify areas for efficiency and process improvements.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable software to infer statistical data.
  • Proven capability in analyzing and assessing problems and familiarity with GD & T preferred.
  • Effective communication and report writing skills.
  • Expertise with the tools, concepts and methodologies of quality management.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity, honesty and a commitment to quality.
  • Good leadership capabilities to lead projects to successful completion
