Electrical Design Engineer

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Vishay, EFI located in Warwick, RI is currently seeking a full-time Electrical Design Engineer/Thin Film.  This position is responsible for creating, modifying, and checking multi-dimensional layouts and detailed drawings of customer thin film ceramic and silicon devices that can include thin film resistor, capacitors, & inductors.  Qualified Engineer will work from hard copy and electronic schematics / drawings using AutoCAD and other AutoDesk software. Responsible for developing product costing for customer quotations and translating customer drawings and requirements for assigned product lines into production documentation. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgement within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Creates, modifies, and checks multi-dimensional layouts and detailed drawings.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Interprets customer drawings and follows instructions to create data files for required masks and manufacturing documentation as required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Knowledge of passive device electrical theory required to confirm customer design requirements and to design Vishay EFI catalogue parts. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Identifies and creates product costs from customer quotation requests.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Work effectively with other staff members to resolve problems.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Writes specifications, performs checks on drawings and other manufacturing documents, and analyzes and compiles data as necessary.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Other duties as requested / assigned.

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Requirements:

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">2-7 years of related experience a plus. Above average skills in Excel, AutoCAD, and AutoDesk a plus.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">4 Year Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Works with Military specifications and related ITAR protected information.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">No responsibility for employee supervision or budgets.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Generally good working conditions / office environment.
