Director Product Marketing

Vishay Intertechnology, a global industry leader in the manufacturing of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components for applications in industrial, communications, transportation, consumer, medical, and defense products is currently seeking a Director Product Marketing for our MLCC product line.  This position would preferably reside in our Shelton, Connecticut site.

 

In this positon, you would direct all Product Marketing activities for the MLCC Division in order to meet company goals related to sales growth for new specialty and established commercial products.  Provides global product marketing and competitor information for development of R&D project focus.  Responsible for establishing competitive pricing for new and established products.  Develop business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs.  Participates in division business review meetings including the development of Sales and Division Budgets.  This positon requires detailed project management and close interface with production, product engineering, QA, reliability teams, as well as other marketing teams, sales and customers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • In concert with top organization level, typically sets the strategic division direction for optimal organization product sales growth, manufacturing excellence, etc. in order to maximize potential.
  • Participates at high level meetings and sets forth policies and plans to achieve growth, expansion, manufacturing excellence, quality assurance, increased revenue, headcount planning, etc.
  • Approves budgets for product sales as set by top organizational level.
  • Meets with key/strategic customers on a regular frequency and/or as needed.
  • Manages and interfaces with a team of individuals supporting Product Marketing activities to ensure smooth operations, and division growth to support company objectives.
  • Answers all product-support related technical questions from the field by coordinating the work through various internal functions such as manufacturing, QA, product engineering, Reliability, and other marketing groups.
  • Develops specific marketing plans and activities for MLCC products to continue business growth in response to customer needs and provides value added solutions to customers.
  • Oversees market research and monitors competitive activity. Takes lead in presentations and utilizes market research to monitor competition and report back to division management.
  • Participates at senior meetings and sets forth policies and plans to achieve speed to market excellence, in concert with production, engineering, quality assurance, sales growth.
  • Participates in capacity management activities to establish mid to long term master planning.
  • If needed, visits customers, attend conferences to assess needs.
  • Selects appropriate subordinate group to ensure smooth operations to support company objectives and provides training as required.

 

Position Requirements:

15+ years of product marketing experience within the electronics industry (ideally MLCC’s), incl. excellent negotiation and presentation and management skills. Experience in dealing with divisions’ product offerings.

 

Knowledge of Passive Electronics (MLCC and Multilayer Capacitors preferably).

 

Technical and Business Project Management skills and experience is desired.

 

B.S. in Engineering or equivalent, BSEE preferred.  MBA would be a benefit.
