Senior Director Business Marketing

Vishay Intertechnology, a global industry leader in the manufacturing of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components for applications in industrial, communications, transportation, consumer, medical, and defense products is currently seeking a Senior Director of Business Marketing for Passives components in North America.

 

In this position, the Senior Director of Business Marketing Passives will establish and drive all regional efforts to achieve design-in goals and identify new product opportunities. Grow both profit and sales revenue of all the divisions for Vishay Passives Components in the region. Supervise all department staff member activities; provides guidance and individual training as required. The position is responsible for all Vishay passive component business marketing activities within the Americas region.  The position can only be successfully accomplished with a thorough understanding of Passives divisions’ products, market prices, customer applications, competitive forces and product costs along with excellent communications skills.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Lead Vishay’s relationship and negotiations with distributors to secure distribution goals and to maintain and grow Vishay’s market shares.
  • Define the regional strategy for the divisions to generate and increase business without compromising margins in alignment with the divisions.
  • Establish and update price guidelines and strategy for business marketing and monitor performance.  Approve all pricing below guidelines. Approve / establish pricing strategies for customer contract negotiations and attend negotiations as required.
  • Coordinate and direct the business activities of the Passives divisions within the regions and specifically for the distribution channel incl. the catalogue houses.
  • Drive the business marketing efforts to achieve objectives for design-in and in identifying new product opportunities. Extend the presents of Vishay Passives in the customers’ Bill of Material. Follow up quotes and design win.
  • Generate competitive product/market information to optimize our offering to the market with the objective to generate profitable business.
  • Validate & approve all credit requests i.e. SSD, Distribution scrap, pricing errors, etc.
  • Provide product training and technical presentations to our customers, reps and direct sales people.
  • Field all business & technical questions

 

Position Requirements:

10 years of technical and commercial sales or marketing experience within the electronics industry, incl. excellent negotiation and presentation and management skills. Experience in dealing with divisions’ product offerings. Prior engineering experience would also be a benefit. Extended office and reporting tool skills.

 

B.S. in Engineering or equivalent, BSEE preferred.  MBA would be a benefit.

Dimensions

Annual Sales Revenue of 470 M$ for all involved Passives Divisions, related VM, and a staff size of total 20 people in the Americas. Field travel visiting customers, direct sales people and reps is expected. International travelling as well to Europe, Asia. Extended office environment.

 Location:

  • Midwestern / Western US preferred.
