Where You’ll Work & The Scope:

Vishay Siliconix, a leader in the development of power semiconductor products which improves efficiency in electronic systems for consumer, industrial, automotive, and medical applications, is currently seeking a Systems Architect/Engineer IC to support the growth of our IC business. This position will be located in San Jose, California.

 

How You’ll Help Us Build the DNA of Tech:

As Systems Architect/Engineer you will use your in-depth knowledge of power management IC topologies and DC/DC converters to be the key contributor in architecting innovative power conversion concepts that will drive the development of products that will offer system solutions to the customers with the right balance between performance and cost. You will also support the definition and the development of integrated solutions and evaluation system for the target application.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with peers to define products that meet internal and/or external customer requirements and standards.
  • Evaluate the impact of results and validate hardware against specifications; Define the test plan to collect data on accuracy, reliability, performance, power, and robustness of design; organizes and plots the data to draw conclusions and present findings.
  • Drive power modeling and optimization with architecture, design, and system.
  • Follow through power initiatives from concept, documentation, pre-silicon, post-silicon, to production. Drive trade-off analysis for engineering reviews and product roadmap decisions.
  • Travel to other Vishay and customer sites.
  • Mentor and coach other team members

Experience You’ll Need:

  • BS, MS. or PhD. in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in power electronics and motor drives

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong technical expertise in the area of power management IC including switched mode power supply topologies, especially DC/DC converters
  • Solid understanding of advanced digital and analog circuits is highly desirable. 
  • Be experienced in the lab evaluation equipment and methods, including hardware/software/firmware as well as data processing and analysis tools
  • Be experienced using circuit simulation tools: SiMetrix and MATLAB/Simulink
  • Familiarity with FPGA design flows and HDL scripting languages.
  • Cross-discipline experience with understanding of HW/SW/System level interactions in important power efficiency scenarios
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with key customers and with internal team members
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, and goal-oriented personality
  • Detail-oriented and problem-solving attitude
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of the semiconductor industry landscape
