Manager General Accounting

Vishay Přeštice is currently seeking a General accounting manager

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure an accurate and timely month, quarterly and year end close while obtaining a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Is responsible for the general accounting function which includes balance sheet management incl. fixed asset accounting and AP accounting, financial reporting and intercompany accounting
  • Serves as the local resource for all Sarbanes Oxley questions regarding methodology, coordinates and oversees the Sarbanes Oxley activities relative to internal controls documentation and testing and segregation of duties
  • Ensures that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and local as well as US GAAP. Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure this compliance
  • Ensures that company financial reports are prepared in compliance with policies and directives, US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings
  • Prepares monthly statutory reports (VAT, statistics, etc.) with the needed quality and within the statutory timeframes
  • Prepares periodical and ad-hoc analysis and manages the preparation of the annual report
  • Develops and keeps improving local SAP processes
  • Manages a team of general accountants and is responsible for continued development of these associates so that they are capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities
  • Cooperation with controlling on budget and forecast, is responsible for proper accruals

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems - preferably SAP
  • Ability to present financial information effectively using MS Office products
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, flexibility and eagerness to learn
  • Leadership skills with the ability to work under pressure and cultivate and develop key relationships
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Czech – German is an advantage - are required along with the ability to influence others and interface with external contacts, internal management, and accounting and finance team.
  • Qualitative abilities including strong analytical skills and forecasting skills, technical proficiency, effective problem-solving skills and strong ability to interpret statistical and accounting information/reports
  • University degree, ideally in economics or finance
  • A minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience is required in a finance and accounting role
  • Excel skills on a very good level
  • Tax knowledge is a plus
