Incoming Inspector 3

Vishay, a global industry leader in the manufacturing of discrete semiconductors for applications in industrial, communications, transportation, consumer, medical, and defense products is currently seeking an Incoming Inspector in our Ontario, California site.


In this positon, the Incoming Inspector will be responsible for performing product and process inspection and/or audits with corresponding documentation to determine product conformance utilizing controlled Drawings, Engineering Specifications, Work Instructions and Production Instructions.     


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs First Article Inspection of components and assemblies to determine compliance to Drawings and Engineering Specifications with corresponding data and documents.
  • Performs Receiving Inspection of material, components and assemblies per corresponding Drawings and Engineering Specifications with corresponding data and documents.
  • When performing daily task, must maintain compliance with Vishay Spectrol ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System methods and procedures
  • When performing daily task, able to utilize and maintain historical inspection records and files.
  • Makes decisions on determining material, component and assembly conformance based on controlled drawings and specifications.


Position Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of inspection methods, equipment and gauges utilization when performing First Article and Receiving Inspection.
  • Able to read and understand material, assembly and component drawings and specification; electrical test, mechanical test, dimensional and other aspects to determine product conformance.
  • General knowledge of computers; data entry, Microsoft Office and e-mail.
  • Experience working with optical (non-contacting) inspection equipment; RAM Optical Measurement System.


Ideal candidate will have at least a high school degree with some college preferred.    Understanding of Quality Management Systems; i.e. ISO 9001:2015.  1 to 3 years of routine Inspection experience utilizing miscellaneous gauges and optical measurement equipment (Caliper, micrometer, height gage, Go/No-go gages, etc.) .  Minimum: 1 year of First Article precision inspection experience utilizing miscellaneous gauges and optical measurement equipment.
