Do you want to be a part of the critical infrastructure in today’s growing technology field?  Vishay Spectrol in Ontario, CA is looking for a full-time Assembler.  This position is a temporary to regular employment opportunity. Day shift:  Monday - Thursday 5:30am to 4pm.  Candidates need 1 – 3 years of related experience to apply. 

 

An ideal candidate should be able to perform assembly work requiring assembly skills and technical knowledge of operations involving bench top equipment and microscope assembly processes for the manufacturing of potentiometers on the assembly line assigned.  Operations are those which include multiple task micro assembly.  Should be able to perform multiple operations daily and will also test units to verify product is built to specifications.  Must be able to work to drawings and demonstrate methods for the assembly of potentiometers.  Must be able to meet labor standards.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Coil Operations such as inserting, straightening, cutting, peeling, trimming. Measuring, testing, reworking, polishing, welding, soldering, fitting, bridging and soda blasting
  • Perform assembly processes such as staking, crimping, pressing, drilling, epoxying, marking, washing, lubing, cutting wire, and solder dipping
  • Perform resistance welding on potentiometer components for the manufacturing of final assembly units
  • Perform assembly processes sometimes under microscope involving subminiature components or complete assemblies
  • Perform assembly processes such as electrical tap, solder short, bridging coils, rotor assemblies, epoxy weighing, resistance welding and soldering
  • Perform test processes such as resistance, insulation resistance, linearity, noise, endplay, torque, and mechanical measurements using drop gauge, calipers, force gauge and scales
  • Utilize phase head to verify potentiometers conformity or to phase units or components
  • May move from process to process as necessary
  • May assist Lead in issuance of material, breakdown of kits, training or other misc duties
  • May be assigned to other duties in other departments or areas as needed
  • May be asked to perform other tasks as assigned by Lead and Manager

 

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to work under a microscope
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Be able to perform the basic process operations in the manufacturing of potentiometers in the assigned work centers while meeting labor standards
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow engineering drawings and specifications
  • Utilize inspection gauges, tools and electronic test equipment
  • Demonstrate knowledge, aptitude and manual coordination 

 

Pay:  $16-18/hour depending on experience
