Quality Engineer I

Vishay in Niagara Falls, NY is hiring for a Full-time Quality Engineer I. The Quality Engineer supports the plant by providing problem solving and lean know-how to further improve product quality and overall plant efficiency.  

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the “Quarterback” for Customer Corrective Action Reports (CARs).
    Coordinates and drives CARs through completion and verifies the effectiveness of the actions. Works with Engineering, Production & Suppliers to find root cause, Corrective 
     Action and Process Improvement. Applies Lean & 5S whenever possible.
  • Responsible for supporting the plant in developing and implementing effective LEAN tactics including Continuous Improvement and 5S methods.
  • Provides Technical Assistance to Quality Technicians & Customer Service in the areas of  Inspection, RMAs, First Article Inspections and Source Inspections.
  • Participates in Internal CARs with a Team and facilitates process improvement.
  • Performs Internal Audits and participates in External Audits.

 

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or a related field required.
  • Extensive experience in lieu of education may be considered.
  • Certifications in LEAN or Six Sigma highly preferred.

 

Experiences and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment, with relevant experience required.
  • Use of Lean methodologies, process control, and constraint theory desired.
  • Lead others to adopt and adapt to Continuous Improvement as a result of Lean application.
  • Analyzes and resolves problems relating to topic, individual and in team collaboration.
  • Capable to design learning aids and topic material for training application.
  • Effective time management and organizational behavior.
  • Strong analytical proficiency with process focus.
  • Comfortable in high volume interaction with teammates and others that have various Lean competency understanding.
  • Demonstrated conflict management aptitude.
  • Confidentiality required.
