Vishay in Niagara Falls, NY is hiring for a Process Engineer. The successful candidate will provide technical and sustaining engineering support for thin film resistor manufacturing, starting with our automated optical inspection (AOI) processes.  Establishes operating equipment specifications, improves manufacturing techniques and production yields, and introduces process equipment to improve production efficiencies.  Interacts with product design and development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible. 

 

How You'll Help Us Build the DNA of Tech: 

 

  • Interfaces with design engineering and production team to coordinate and improve processes.
  • Interfaces with design engineering concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Makes recommendations for equipment and process requirements of product lines.
  • Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

 

Experience You'll Need:

 

  • Minimum three years related experience in process engineering including automated optical inspection (AOI).  Not an entry level position.
  • B.S. in Engineering or similar physical science degree.
  • Lean six sigma training preferred. Other thin film process or resistor manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • May be exposed to dust, noise, high voltage, chemicals, laser & UV light, crush/cut mechanical forces, heat and cold.  Position requires personal protective equipment (PPE) to be worn in designated areas.
  • Lead others to adopt and adapt to Continuous Improvement as a result of Lean application.
  • Analyzes and resolves problems, individually and in team collaboration.
  • Capable to design learning aids and topic material for training application.
  • Effective time management, and organizational behavior, and communication.
  • Strong analytical proficiency with process focus.
  • Comfortable in interaction with teammates and others that have various Lean competency understanding.  Confidentiality is required.
  • Able to work with ITAR export controlled documents and products.
