Operator 3 (Laser Operator 3rd Shift)

Do you want to be a part of the critical infrastructure of today’s growing technology?  Vishay in Niagara Falls, NY is seeking an Operator 3 (Laser 3rd shift). An ideal candidate should be able to learn to use a laser to trim products.  Able to operate laser score machine, scores ceramic substrates per Vishay specifications.

Requirements:

•   High school diploma
•   Laser Machinist test if no electronics or math background
•   Ability to do problem solving and perform independently.
•   Ability to read and write in order to understand production documents, specifications, designs and accurately record required information.
•   Ability to perform arithmetic calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using a learned method or a calculator.
•   Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail in order to handle repetitive type work in the manufacture of small, close tolerance parts.
•   Eye-hand coordination and good manual dexterity in order to accurately process the small products manufactured.
•   Organizational skills in order to organize work station in an efficient manner.
•   Ability to run up to three (3) laser trimming machines simultaneously

Primary Responsibilities:

•   Learn FAP program writing, Maintain and adjust programs for optimized trimming without jeopardizing quality.
•   Setup laser trim machine per laser trim manual and other applicable manufacturing procedures.
•   Run and monitor up to three (3) laser trim machine(s) simultaneously, or single piece trimming. Sample measurement checks of resistors per documented instructions.
•   Using microscope, visually inspect for laser cut quality and trim location, perform measurement checks of each resistor to ensure proper tolerance.
•   Records appropriate information into logs and move to the next department. Complete low yield alert forms to inform production control of product loss
•   Perform general maintenance on laser machines, including, but not limited to replacing laser lamps and maintaining DI water levels.
• Keeps work area clean with regular housekeeping, including, but not limited to dusting, sweeping and mopping.

Pay: Starting base will commensurate with experience.
