Facilities Maintenance Supervisor 1

Vishay Thin Film Niagara Falls is currently seeking a Full Time Facilities Maintenance Supervisor responsible for efficiently utilizing maintenance employees for daily equipment breakdowns, PM’s, project work and maintaining the facility; will work closely with Management to implement projects, develop procedures, maintain budget, improve service to production, create team relationships and develop employees in the department; will work with environmental coordinator on maintaining regulations, implementing safety systems, coordinating required annual safety training, testing and drills. Maintain compliance of local environmental reporting and coordinate the disposal of hazardous materials.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily activities of the Maintenance Department, prioritize and assign resources as required to support operational objectives and Facilities maintenance
  • Administrate Preventative Maintenance Program for both manufacturing equipment and facility, incorporating elements of Continuous Improvement to improve the overall effectiveness
  • Attend daily production meetings, along with all other meetings as necessary
  • Implement elements of Continuous Improvement within the Maintenance Department to improve overall effectiveness
  • Utilize SAP system for purchase approval and budgeting
  • Coordinate  safety training at the required time intervals in compliance to OSHA Standards and Vishay Policy as established by EHS
  • Maintain local regulatory reporting and testing, assist the EHS Coordinator with all State and Federal environmental reporting and compliance
  • Coordinate the disposal of hazardous wastes
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of the facility and manufacturing operations


  • Knowledge of maintenance processes and equipment mechanics
  • Electrical and facility familiarity
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work well with co-workers in a team atmosphere

  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards and Environmental Compliance to Local, State and Federal Regulatory Agencies

  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and 18001 Standards

  • 2-year degree or 10+ years related job experience
