Where You’ll Work & The Scope:

Vishay UltraSource is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to support our quality and on-time shipment goals by dispositioning potentially discrepant material at Incoming and Final Inspection.  The Quality Engineer will perform visual (microscope) and dimensional validation of materials and products applying customer specification drawing requirements and Vishay UltraSource quality procedures as the basis for the disposition.  

 

 

How You’ll Help Us Build the DNA of Tech:

  • Investigate and disposition work order issues in the Incoming and Final Inspection areas;
  • Train Final Inspectors/Quality Assurance personnel on procedures;
  • Develop, update and document inspection processes and criteria;
  • Drive efficient processing and documenting of customer RMAs, effective failure analysis and responsive communication to customers (as applicable);
  • Review  and document supplier issues and work directly with the suppliers to resolve;
  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering personnel to drive root cause and corrective action for work orders with high defect rates;  
  • Explore and suggest defect reduction programs to Process Engineering;
  • Perform internal audits to the AS9100 standard, as part of the Internal Audit Team,  and document results as required;
  • Schedule and host Customer source inspection;
  • Provide back up support for all quality team members with specific responsibility for first articles inspection (FAI) and contract reviews;

 

Experience You’ll Need:

  • Familiar with AS9100/ISO9001 and Industry specifications such as MIL Standard and/or IPC
  • Minimum Associates degree in a technical discipline, preferred
  • 1-2 years of engineering experience and/or 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance
  • Previous work experience within a cleanroom preferred
  • Experience using calibrated measuring instruments ranging from hand tools to optical measuring equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret a wide variety of customer prints and specifications
  • Strong GD&T knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to lead root cause analysis and corrective active teams, as required
  • Lean manufacturing experience a plus
  • Good customer-oriented attitude.
  • Effective communication and report writing skills.
  • Expertise with the tools, concepts and methodologies of quality management.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity, honesty and a commitment to quality.
  • Good leadership capabilities to lead projects to successful completion

 

Pay: $80,000-95,000 per year
