Technical Sales Engineer (Entry Level)

Vishay Intertechnology Inc., a global industry leader in the manufacturing of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components, is currently seeking a Technical Sales Engineer in their Hollis, NH location to help market, sell, and grow accounts for the Specialty Thin Film division (STF). STF has decades of thin film manufacturing expertise used to produce a wide array of custom and standard thin film products for companies located all over the world. Help us find new customers that need thin film technologies to meet the challenges they face with their own products striving for high performance in Photonics, Electronic Warfare, and 5G applications. 

 

In this position you will support the STF sales team by preparing quotations, customer reports, and qualifying new opportunities. You will help implement and manage processes to monitor the monthly performance of bookings, design wins, and customer performance metrics. You will help develop and support key customers and work with the marketing staff to bring new products and services to market.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, building rapport, providing technical information and explanations, and preparing quotations.
  • Prepares quotations for new customers and key accounts.
  • Supports customers by answering inquiries, communicating delivery dates, and explaining order details.
  • Monitoring the results of sales activities against planned objectives.
  • Maintaining and improving customer service quality by following documented processes, and recommending improved policies and procedures.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying new processes and part numbers, participating in engineering and manufacturing discussions.
  • Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers, including key personnel in engineering, R&D, manufacturing, and purchasing.
  • Achieve assigned sales, account development, and other targets.
  • Provide inputs to help develop realistic forecasting plans.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in semiconductor, RF, and/or microwave engineering positions with a demonstrated history of progressive achievement.
  • Technical bachelor’s degree required or equivalent in experience.
  • Must be able to travel ~10% of time.
  • Familiarity with CAD software is required.
  • CRM experience is desirable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software tools.
  • Exceptional time management skills and proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Focused, upbeat and positive contributor.
