Internship: Process Engineering

Vishay UltraSource in Hollis, NH is currently seeking a full-time Process Engineering Intern. As an Engineering Intern at Vishay UltraSource, you will have the opportunity to use your education to tackle real world engineering challenges. In this role you will work with highly dedicated and skilled engineering professionals as you assist the engineering department with a variety of hands-on projects that will add value to the business through day-to-day manufacturing support and yield and cycle time improvement.  You will be assigned to one of the manufacturing areas such as  Photolithography/Etch, Laser Machining , Dicing or Assembly; in which you will learn to perform the standard processes in order to facility a better understanding of the process. At the end of your internship, you will provide a detailed presentation of your work to the other members of the engineering team and management.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Learn to perform the standard process/operations for the process area assigned;
  • Assist the Engineering Team as assigned, with the research, development, testing and validation of experiments for process improvements or corrective actions;
  • Assure the accuracy and completeness of all files, engineering documents, and tasks of assigned projects;
  • Perform and execute DOE’s to improve process capability, cycle times, and yields in the process area assigned to;
  • Create/improve data collection tools in LabView or other data interfaces in order to improve data accuracy and cycle time.

 

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Material Science,  Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Rising Junior or Senior in Fall 2021. 
  • Must have the ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Able to perform work under a microscope and in a cleanroom environment.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills and be able to present information effectively in one-one-one and small group situations.
  • Moderate or greater proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word,Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Previous experience with JMP, Minitab, Matlab, and/or LabView a plus.
  • Previous experience in Micro-electronic fab a plus.
  • Must be focused, energetic, self-starting and self-managed individual with impeccable attention to detail and time management skills.
