Process Technician - Metal

Vishay Applied Thin-Film Products, in Fremont, California is currently seeking a full-time Process Technician, responsible for monitoring and improving the quality manufacturing process. Works from established marking specifications, existing computer programs and verbal instructions. This position is ideal for the individual that requires minimal supervision and shows initiative in a fast-paced environment. 


Primary Responsibilities

  • Clean substrates prior to deposition and after laser drill
  • Coat substrates as preparation for via drill
  • Maintain material traceability from start to end of each process
  • Report all non-conformances to management
  • Identify production inefficiencies and suggests potential improvements to product or processes
  • Cross-train in other areas of responsibilities within the Metal/Laser group
  • Responsible for adhering to the code of safe practices in the use of machines, equipment, and materials
  • May be required to perform other duties



  • High School diploma or equivalent. Technical school/Associate degree a plus
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in metals and/or semiconductor processing
  • Clean room experience desired
  • Familiar with vacuum systems and process gases as well as chemical cleaning is desired
  • Proficient in English. Must have good English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
  • Resolve problems at an early stage and works well in problem solving situations
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Able to prioritize job flows, schedule and manage time efficiently
  • Strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities required
  • Well organized and able to work independently
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with constant change
  • Be able to lift minimum 50 pounds
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and other safety procedures
