Process Engr II

Vishay Applied Thin-Film Products is currently seeking a full-time, Sr. Manufacturing Suppot Engineer responsible for supporting the engineering function, plans and conducts activities concerned with engineering, manufacturing processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.  This role works on continuous improvement for the specific area.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Focus on manufacturing process optimizations that lead to improvement of yield and efficiency
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during engineering activities and provide recommended process improvements to management
  • Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during engineering activities
  • Perform failure analysis on customer returned products (RMA), identify root causes for failures and provide effective corrective actions for prevention of future customer failures
  • Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in engineering activities
  • Work closely with Quality Engineering in application of statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process controls and effectiveness of process changes
  • Troubleshooting and insuring processes stay optimal, conducting experimentation for process development and improvement
  • Providing technical support for both customers and internal operational issues



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Chemical, preferred
  • 5-10 years’ related experience in manufacturing as a process engineer
  • Minimum 10 years thin-film and/or photolithography, chemistry or material science background
  • Computer skills, data entry experience and proven working knowledge of computer usage
  • Electrolytic plating experience (gold – rare metals preferred)
  • Ability to identify, analyze and investigate root-cause process failures
  • Problem-solver who can be resourceful, analytical, and take a solution-focused approach to problem situations
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Proficient in English. Must have good English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
  • Service-oriented individual who can deliver courteous, responsive, helpful internal and external customer service.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with constant change
  • Able to prioritize job flows, schedule and manage time efficiently
  • Strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities required
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and other safety procedures
  • Prior experience working for ISO 9000 certified company
