International Customer Service Representative

Where You'll Work & the Scope:

Vishay Applied Thin-Film Products is currently seeking a full-time International Customer Service Representative responsible for export documentation, incoterms associated with entering orders that will ship out of the country, quoting, order entry, order management, help address any issues/disputes from the customers or clients by providing helpful information, answering questions, and responding to any complaints. 

 

How You'll Help Us Build the DNA of Tech:

  • Manage orders in accordance with Export Administration Regulations as they relate to Export Licenses, Entity List, Denied Party List and Commerce Control List
  • Keep up-to-date records for Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) submittal and approval and for orders placed that require Export Licenses to ship
  • Ensure that proper shipping and export documentation requirements are being met
  • Responsible for making decisions within corporate polices and guidelines
  • Proper handling of customer’s site drafts and cash in advance, to ensure not only the execution of the documents but to protect the financial interest of Vishay
  • Support the sales team with respect to assigned and account base of 150+ accounts, including many aerospace, defense, and international customers
  • Responsible for quoting, follow up on quotes, order entry and order management
  • Create RMAs, resolve pricing discrepancies and assist with expediting requests
  • Respond to a high volume of customer inquiries on a daily basis, by both phone and email in a fast-paced environment
  • May be required to perform other duties

 

Experience You'll Need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent,  AA or AS degree desirable
  • 5+ years of experience in customer service in an import/export working environment
  • Must have 3-4 years of international customer service experience
  • Familiar with ECCN and export licenses, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) controls and customer screenings
  • Well versed in international export documentation, financial instructions, regulations and compliance laws
  • Able to prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent customer care and focus; ability to assess customer’s needs and provide answers, paths, troubleshooting help, or methods for a positive customer experience
  • Able to respond quickly to customer issues, all with a polite, empathic, and professional voice and manner
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access proficiency a must
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must possess a highly-positive and service-oriented approach to work with both internal and external customers
  • Strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities required
  • Can be relied on to work with limited supervision at times and to follow through with tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with constant change
  • Able to handle pressure with poise and tact
