Production Technician (1st Shift)

Do you want to be a part of the critical infrastructure in today's growing technology? Vishay Dale Electronics in Columbus, NE is seeking a full time Production Technician for the day shift. The production technician, under the guidance of the Department Supervisor and /or Product Engineers, is responsible for evaluating materials, fabricating prototypes, as well as specials and other products/processes that cannot be produced on the main product lines. In addition, this role assists Engineering, Maintenance, and Production with equipment modifications or improvements, as well as, material adaptability and performance. This role will also assist and perform production functions which may fall outside the roles of maintenance or production personnel.



  • With minimal direction from supervisor builds custom samples and prototypes for evaluation
  • Perform special testing of products as needed 
  • Determines specific product requirements from Dale specificiations, supervisor, material handler or engineer
  • Follows engineering or production directions, performs and or assists with equipment or material debug and changeovers 



  • Eye-hand coordination and good manual dexterity in order to accurately process the small parts manufactured.  
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in order to work in harmony with line workers, Supervisor and Engineers. 
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail in order to accurately perform duties in the manufacturing of small, close tolerance parts. 
  • Organizational skills in order to organize workstation in an efficient manner. 
  • Ability to understand verbal instructions in order to take work direction an accurately manufacture products where no formal assembly document is available in many cases. 
  • Ability to read and write in order to read and understand company documents and in some cases assist in the writing of company documents.  Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in order to accurately figure production numbers. 
  • Ability to do light to average lifting in order to lift and handle materials used and products manufactured. 
  • Ability to perform work requiring fairly close visual attention that may require aids to vision such as a microscope or magnifying light. 
  • Mobility to easily move from one workstation to another or from the engineering lab to product lines in order to perform a variety of different duties. 
  • Slightly dirty work with occasional exposure to disagreeable elements such as noise, dust and chemicals.  Sedentary type work.
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Associates Degree in Technical field or equivalent experience desirable or High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to one year experience.
