Process Engineering Tech

Vishay Dale Electronics in Columbus, NE is currently seeking a Process Engineering Technician responsible for conducting specific work assignments related to the high current shunt products and manufacturing methods. Performing product electrical characteristics/evaluation per customer requirements. Producing product samples to fill customer sample requests and for internal evaluations and qualifications. Aids and/or performs product evaluation under the guidance of a Product Development Engineer.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Fabricates product samples for customers and/or product evaluation.
  • Records dimensional, electrical, and thermal measurements in addition to other specific data related to customer sample requests.
  • Fabricates and operates experimental fixtures and complex prototype equipment.
  • Aids in the development of new product processes and equipment. Using Solid Works and/or ACAD.
  • Aids in the training of production operators and technicians during the release of new products to manufacturing.
  • Perform product evaluation (electrical characteristics)
  • Operate milling machine and other shop equipment.
  • Operate electrical, mechanical, and thermal test equipment.
  • Solid Works and ACAD.
  • Compile test results and measurements from product sample testing.
  • Read and comply with MSDS documents related to materials used in the manufacturing of resistor products.

 

Requirements: 

Ability to setup electrical devices such as power supplies, IR camera, test equipment, and pulse generator.  Ability to run some machine tools (with safety and operational direction from a qualified operator or supervisor).  Knowledge of safety and environmental requirements for shop equipment and the safe use and disposal of chemicals used in the high current shunt area.  Needs skills and quality mindset required to fabricate samples with a high degree of accuracy and a product that is free of defects. 

Requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent years of experience.
