Process Engineering Manager

Vishay Dale of Columbus, NE is now hiring a Process Engineering Manager. The Process Engineering Manager will direct all engineering activities for a specific major product area within the general policies established by the Engineering Manager. 

 

 Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible to determine parameters of engineering efforts, programs and goals for the product area. Lays out and defines project objectives to Engineers in areas of new design, product/process improvement and development.
  • Guides the staffing and management of engineering personnel under their direction including holding of progress reviews.
  • Establishes schedules, funding, budgeting of all engineering projects within product area and maintains financial control of these projects.
  • Ensures that products and equipment are designed, specifications are written and processes established with the thought in mind of reducing costs of manufacturing, but not to the detriment of product quality or employee safety.
  • Stays in constant communication with Manufacturing to assure issues are addressed in a timely manner and opportunities for improvement are captured.  Review of products at different stages in the process and auditing the implementation of procedures specifying the proper methods for manufacturing.
  • Independently performs more complex engineering work where subordinates may lack the experience or knowledge necessary to bring about satisfactory completion. Performs less complex engineering work when necessitated by special circumstances and to avoid adverse exposure for the company.
  • Maintains complete competitive product knowledge and related developments in the area of new processes and products. Responsible for distribution of pertinent information to all areas that might benefit from their knowledge gained. 

 Experience: 

 5 years of related experience in engineering with specific knowledge of team supervision. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or related discipline.

  • High working knowledge with computers and technology.
  • Responsible for the transfer of new product development to manufacturing and ongoing improvements and support to production. 
  • May be responsible for up to 7 to 10 employees and the Expense and Capital budgets to support the projects of their assigned department.   
  • Regular Domestic travel required. 
  • Bilingual ability a plus
