Operator - Manual Winder (2nd Shift)

Do you want to be a part of the critical infrastructure in today's growing technology? Vishay Dale in Columbus, NE is currently seeking a full-time Manual Winder on our 2nd Shift. This position would be responsible for operating winding machines.
Responsibilities:
- Operation includes welding, winding and test specified turns of wire onto a resistor sub-assembly to produce a specified resistance value.
- Receives capped ceramic sub-assemblies, wire and production orders from Material Handler.
- Turns on machines and computers.
- Places correct wire on spindle and thread through machine.
- Enters correct winding parameters and order information into the computer (includes wire width, value, tolerance and thickness) and ohms per foot of the wire.
- Loads trays/reels of capped ceramic sub-assemblies into each.
- Works with various winding machines, winding different part types and sizes and various wire sizes.
- Inspects parts on a random basis.
- Monitors machines for failures and makes proper adjustments.
- Unloads trays of wound parts. Re-trays parts when necessary.
- Completes necessary paperwork.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Requires the use of judgment in the analysis of facts and circumstances surrounding individual processes or operations and in the determination of actions to be taken within the limits of standard or accepted practices.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in performance of duties.
- Ability to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to assure proper set-up and identify and make decisions regarding quality of work.
- Three months to one year training in the application of a range of complex or automated machinery, equipment and processes
- Training in the application and operation of a range of complex or automated machinery, equipment and processes or in the application of practical and shop mathematics together with the use of specifications, drawings, or plans.
