Operator 2 - Continuous Line Operator

Vishay  Columbus, Nebraska is currently seeking a Full Time Operator 3, Continuous Line Operator 2 responsible for A Continuous line Operator 2  will have primary responsibility at one or two of the following areas; welding/coating, or testmark/colorband. The operators must have full knowledge and skill on a minimum of 3 separate operations or  lines at welding or testmark.  Example: Weld or testmark on 3 different lines OR weld and testmark on 1 line and weld on another line (3 operations).

Primary Responsiblities:

  • Checks production traveler to make sure previous step has been done and proper documentation has been done before sending on to the next station.
  • Sets up work station and makes all checks as required in specification for your assigned workstation per DPS-3318.
  • Makes quality checks as required during your assigned shift to insure quality production. Perform SPC and chart as required.
  • Report and enter all required information accurately as required both electronically and handwritten logs at designated workstations.
  • Signs off production traveler as required with date, employee number, and other paper information.  Place production traveler with the order.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist in training of new operators as requested.
  • Makes routine daily cleaning time at assigned workstation.
  • Operator will interface with necessary maintenance, material handler, and engineering to maintain a high degree of quality, uptime, and on time delivery.
  • Practices all safety rules.
  • Performs operations and other related duties as assigned.
  • Equipment Utilization:  Uses Welder, Precoater, Coater, and Test mark Uses computer at assigned station.
  • Responsible to accomplish their functions in the most efficient manner, producing quality parts, ensuring that the order is properly documented and sent on to the next station in a timely manner.
  • Engaged in the Division’s Continuous Improvement Lean program, by providing evidence through the use either the JM (Job Method), 5s Audits, improvement on 8 types of waste.


High school diploma or equivalent.

A minimum of 1 year of experience in the Continuous line operations.

Must be able to accurately interpret specifications.  Must be able to stand during entire shift.  Must be able to handle and lift up to 20 pounds.  Attend a SPC Training course.  Working in a busy production environment, subject to noise and varying lighting levels.  May be required to tie hair back for safety reasons.  Individual is required to be on feet most of the day.  May be subject to some powder dust.
