Vishay Dale in Columbus, NE is currently seeking a full-time, 1st shift Maintenance Lead / Planner responsible for assisting the Department Manager in directing the activities of the department and administrating the various programs of the department within his/her assigned group.  Directs & Performs maintenance on production equipment and all other supporting equipment within the assigned group.  Oversees his assigned group to achieve the most effective method of conducting day to day maintenance on assigned equipment.  Works with production supervisors to accomplish the most effective utilization of production manpower and equipment.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Troubleshoot and perform the more complex electrical and/or mechanical repair work and adjustments on manufacturing equipment as necessary to maintain production line operations

  • Will work on the following, Basic electrical systems (starters, fuses, contacts, relays), Electrical systems (Frequency drives, motor controls, laser trimmers, vision systems), Mechanical systems (pumps, motors, gears drives, chain drives, cams, vacuum chambers)

  • Update current outdated machines to current technology.  This will require machine building experience from design to assembly

  • Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.  Utilize “PM Change Forms” to facilitate “Predictive Maintenance

  • Enforce the Lock-out / Tag-out program within his/her assigned group.

  • Consistently solicit improvements from your group on equipment improvements and submit requests for such improvements to the department manager.

 

Requirements: 

  • Must possess a 2 year degree in Industrial Electro / Mechanical Systems Maintenance or document 5 years of equivalent experience.      

  • Display specific training in Electrical and/or Electronic Theory.

  • Must be trained in and follow Lock-out/tag-out requirements.  Must be trained in the respirator protection program and be able to wear a respirator in the performance of required duties.  Good mechanical skills required.  Must be able to read electrical and mechanical drawings.  Must have good leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance and work order scheduling techniques, knowledge of SAP and computer software

  • Display specific training in Mechanical Systems Maintenance. 

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams and all source materials relating to the operation and maintenance of equipment utilized within the plant. 

  • Ability to quickly diagnose equipment malfunctions and return to operational condition. 

  • Ability to utilize the proper tools and test equipment to facilitate the best repair possible.

  • Ability to perform adequate manipulation and display the manual dexterity required to operate all tools required to effect a proper repair action. 

  • Ability to perform all bending, twisting and reaching motions to manipulate a load of at least 30 lbs. 

  • Must be capable of using all personal protective equipment required to perform the maintenance tasks required. 

  • Must use all standard electrical and machine safety practices recommended by OSHA.
