Where You’ll Work & The Scope:

Vishay Columbus, NE is currently seeking a Full Time buyer  responsible for assisting in the negotiation and implementation of activities related to the procurement of materials, parts, components, equipment and services.  Acquiring and maintaining technical understanding of products purchased.  Performing cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities.  Assisting with the scheduling of all commodity Resistor product lines while maintaining lead times based on current load guidance and capabilities. With guidance, developing new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.  Monitoring the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure highest quality at best value.  May recommend cost saving proposals, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria. 

 

How You’ll Help Us Build The DNA of Tech:

  • Procurement of materials, parts, components, equipment, and services from suppliers.
  • Plan, review, and modify scheduling of supplies to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Investigate potential suppliers and products, issue RFQ's as necessary.
  • Maintain monthly purchasing related reports and information.
  • Ensure all items and services are properly documented and communicated.

Experience You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor degree in related field  required
  • One to three years of experience preferred 
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on manufacturing environment. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access, Outlook, and mainframe systems a plus
