Vishay Barry is a leader in the development of high power, high frequency resistive components with applications in consumer, industrial, automotive, medical, and military markets. 

  

We are current looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team in Attleboro, Massachusetts involved in development of high power, high frequency resistive components.  In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for product and process engineering activities including monitoring and improving manufacturing yield, cost and quality. 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Play a key role in collaboration with product marketing to ensure that new products are designed meeting all requirements.
  • Establish and maintain product development schedules.
  • Design and develop new products and the associated processes.
  • Generate accurate estimates of manufacturing cost.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition of new products to mass production.
  • Manage product changes such as cost reduction programs and assembly/test site transfers.
  • Issue and manage technical documentation. 
  • Monitor competition and academia to ensure that product offerings utilize state of the art technology. 
  • Implement systems to periodically track performance metrics. 
  • Ensure new product releases meet cost and manufacturability requirements. 

  

Experience: Successful candidates will have most of the following: 

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Equivalent, masters a plus. 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in product engineering role.
  • High frequency component experience is a definite plus. 
  • Very knowledgeable in the following areas: Device physics, Analog circuit theory, Transmission line theory, Reliability testing concept, Electrical and thermal characterization, Failure analysis, Assembly flows, and Final Test operation, Quality systems, standards and statistical tools such as MIL, ISO, AEC, JEDEC, 8D, DFMEA, ESA, J-STD, SPC. 
  • Experience in characterization and testing of electronic components. 
  • Hands-on experience on lab bench equipment. 
  • Pro-active self-starter, results driven, problem solver, good communicator, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. 

  

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills – able to identify problems and/or opportunities for improvement and assesses viable solutions. Develop and execute comprehensive action plans. 
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments concurrently, including ability to assess and manage priorities. 
  • Effective communications skills, particularly the ability to communicate technical expertise. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Must be able to build rapport with Operations and cross-functional colleagues and be able to foster collaborative relationships. 
  • Strong leadership skills. 

 

 

Pay: 127k to 144k
